A little under nine dimes was the worst. Probably around eight to ten dimes on the best but I forget the exact number. It was on a $200 to $23,000 three month run where I was betting like an idiot and getting impossibly lucky. I'll give you guys three guesses if I lost it all back by the end of that season and the first two don't count. I've learned a lot since then.

the sports bet was just me getting sloppy. i won seemingly over the entire summer of 1997 in baseball. absolutley crushed. I was laid off in May which triggered the start. i would study lines all AM and then unload on my book for a killing. towards the end of the summer i was getting lazy. i remember laying 3k on maddux at home to win 1k vs. Fla Marlins. I didn't look for value...just wanted the easy win. ATl was losing 5-0 by the 3rd inning. i was sick. Losing 3k like that on a play i didn't even spend time capping taught me a lesson i hold close. mainly... only bet on games i've done my homework on. other lessons i've also learned. never bet on the Flyers, the eagles or penn state. I have won perhaps 10% of games where i take those teams.

I defied one of my GOLDEN RULES and gambled when drinking...
I got drunk and decided of all things to bet on the Miami Dolphins against the Green Bay Packers on a Monday Night Football game two years ago...
Of course I moved the pointspread all over the Don Best screen from plus 4 to plus 3 1/2...
Needless to say, I passed out at halftime, by which time the ballgame gad already turned into a rout for the Pack...
I woke up with the worst hangover and with a significant drop in my bankroll...
