I'm thinking cabin air filter may be ? They want to charge you $50,$80, or more in labor, for an easy job.

There are a lot of youtube videos for specific vehicles. They didn't have mine, but I found instructions elsewhere. No way will I let dealership crooks do anything, but an oil change.

Who goes to a dealer, outside of warranty work?

Referrals are your friend.

The 3000-mile oil change for me. I stretch it out to 5000 miles.

Actually if I went by the sensor in this car, I'd be changing oil about every 9,000 miles. I try to do it at 5k.

The dealer has the best price for oil changes, about $150 for 10 purchased in advance, but I won't let them sell me anything else.

That is a nice price. I do have them rotate the tires around 10,000 also. It does make a difference.

Watch out for places that offer Air Conditioning or brakes checked for $9.99..

Then they come back with an estimate of their recommended repairs a mile long:finger:

I can see that. Check the AC, then sell a $15 cabin air filter installed for $100, it likely is needed ( I think that is an often neglected part), but it shouldn't cost $50+ in labor to install it in 10 minutes or less.

Brake checks are usually free.
