I never understood the notion that just because someone is rich they have to leave monster tips every time they go out to eat.
Maybe he is like me. I consider myself a generous tipper but I tip based on service. If the service is good I will tip well above the normal percentage. But if it's bad I will tip very low. This idea that there should be some standard tip regardless of your service is one that shouldn't exist. Perhaps the guy had an awful dining experience. Maybe the waiter was rude or unattentive. But solely because he is rich he is expected to leave a big tip?
