Way back in the day I predicted the 2001 Patriots to beat the Rams in the Super Bowl by a score of 27-10.
I had that game ML too, but I'm a Patriots fan. I might have done Pats -2.5
I had Broncos-2.5 to the Pack, and I covered because Holgram let the Broncos score a TD to save time at the end (don't remember the exact number, but a FG would not have covered)
Also had UConn + 600 over Dook in 1999
Another great memory - the two coaches were put in the same room as the super bowl trophy. Mike Martz ran up to it and hugged the shit out of it. Bill Belichick just stood silently and smiled. He who laughs last!
I love recalling the 2nd NYG & PHI upset wins over NE in '12 & '18 SBs. I was so confident that the "overrated" Brady would falter in both SBs. I was wrong about the '18 SB as Brady delivered 505 & 3 TDs, but to see Foles & Eli out-duel him was very satisfying.
The tragic thing about NYG's 1st upset SB win over NE in '08 was I had my mind set on taking NY there too. But as the 2 weeks rolled along, & I heard most of my friends & coworkers predicting the big upset, I changed my mind the day before the gm & went w/NE -12. I rarely let public opinion sway my capping since then. That gm was tuff to watch as I saw NY's great dline pressure the LOAT all gm, frustrating him time & time again, as I foresaw in my head. I would've put some on the ML & Eli for MVP too, so that loss really stung. That definitely would've been the greatest upset I ever predicted. Alas.
