I'm getting hammered lately in tournaments I can barely make the money anymore. I cant seem to build up any kind of stack at all hardly ever over avg stack although I will say I'm on the worst bad beat stretch ever, no matter what I got once the money is in the middle people are hitting they're meracle cards almost every time.

Anyway seeing the levels in most online tournaments are pretty short its kind of hard to play the startegy all the book teach so I was just wondering what strategys work best for online tournaments.

When playing in tourneys i always believe patience is very important.

I just played a tourney today where i was left was 230 chips (starting stack was 1,500), and in the end i lasted long enough to get some money out of the tourney.

I didn't win it though, still working on being able to go all the way.

Be patient really early on.

If your not getting cards make a move and hope to get lucky before your chips get too low, but dont go crazy if you dont get cards for a while.

When it gets later and the blinds get big, thats when you want to be aggresive, raise and raise often. People dont want to commit a quarter of their stack to see a flop most of the time.

1) stay patient and try to play small pots, keep the pot size small and you will protect against loss and reward on over aggressive bluffs.
-Dont watch the average chip stack total: this will make you play hands you shouldnt be in

100% agree, cant worry about the average stack. So many people get knocked out early the average stack gets up quick.
