Not long ago there was a crisis in the economy so severe that BO used the word 25 times in a speech. Then the stimulus bill passed and market reacted by going lower. The president was advised the that the American citizens were in a panic and needed to be reassured that things would get better. Right on cue the president said “I have confidence that the stimulus will work, it will just take time."

Apparently the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's missed the message and commented that he is concerned about the safety of his country's investments in the U.S. Immediately Press secretary Robert Gibbs announced “There is no safer investment in the world than in the United States.“

I hope that Wen sleeps better tonight knowing all is well, I know I will. :103631605

I would be nervous if I was China. We are like the idiot addicted to credit cards. And Prez BO just wants to keep spending, and spending and spending and spending and spending. Same shit that happened the last 8 years in GOP might I add

I was just thinking about this. Bush was a liberal republican president. So we elected a liberal democrat president to get us out of this mess.

Something does not seem right here.

I am pretty liberal myself, that is no secret. But I hope Obama whatever he is doing pans out because I am tired of seeing all this misery. I miss the happy go lucky America that says you can spend and spend because you make good money at your job and another paycheck is coming.

The China economy has been hit too, because we are not buying their stuff like we were a year or two ago. You can get a 32" flat screen for around 350 now. It's just silly.

$350 holy shit!!! Must not be 1080i, I got one for my bedroom a couple of weeks ago and paid around $550 at Costco. Bush was a liberal republican president. Most on the left consider him a very conservative republican but his spending just doesn't indicate that.

"Bush was a liberal republican president"

Spending lot of money on conservative causes DOES NOT make one a liberal!!!:puke1:

Medicare Part D, more funding for education, pork projects out of my ass. I could go on but you get the point, hardly conservative causes.

a spending freeze isnt going to fix anything. the debt is too large. you either keep spending and create a false sense of being ok while prolonging the death or just wrap it up, end it.

if you remember, i have said numerous times i was against the stimulus. i'm in the wrap it up, end it category. explode 100 nukes in the major american cities and rebuild again because nothing will change if we don't spend or we keep spending.

you fools though think this will magically disappear if we stop spending, and instead save like "real people" are right now, bunch of crap.

that's the fucking problem. you can't live without spending and borrowing. the hole gets dug every day. but to spend this much this fast is reckless considering that we're setting ourselves up for more spending to finance the shit we're taking on massive deficits to budget now. used to be the thought of my grandkids paying for it didn't phase me that much, but i take it for granted that i'll drop dead of a heart attack by my late 40s or early 50s. there's a chance i might still be around to see the collapse of my country....

what happened to eliminating the spending on shit we don't need? looks like we're just creating more dependency on the same shit and adding more to it....

Just in case you still have doubts about the economy after…
BO: “I have confidence that the stimulus will work, it will just take time."
And
Robert Gibbs: “There is no safer investment in the world than in the United States.“

The only person with any credibility is brought in to reinforce the administration. For the first time, ever… Ben Bernanke grants an interview.

In an interview Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes," Bernanke said the economy could end its recession in 2009 if the government's program to boost the banking industry succeeds. Those comments come after some of the nation's hardest hit banks said their operations were improving. That is giving investors some encouragement about the sector.

That should put an end to unfounded fear that the economy is in trouble. :drink:

Happy days are here again..... :103631605
