It was 1997. I had even had AOL back then. I got an account at Betonsports.com I did pretty well with them and kept them for two and a half years. I can't even count how many I have used since then.

In 1994 or so I signed up with this scam shop called World Sports Gaming (WSG). My first week or so I won $500 bucks and asked for a payout. They didn't oblige. A friend of mine who had money with them too got information and found the home phone number and address of the owner who lived in Florida. We also had a friend who happened to be a lawyer barred in both California and Florida. We rode this guy repeatedly and after a few months he sent us our money plus some expenses so we would leave him alone. My friend was so pissed he used to call his wife and bug her. Hysterical stuff. Learned much since then.

WorldWager -- don't ask. They are great for those expecting 7 month payouts (if any).

Terrible, terrible experience.

My first book was a place called www.casinoandsports.com in 1999. It looks like its still there, I deposited $100 and lost it so I can't vouch for payouts.

My first real book was either olympic or WSEX shortly afterwards.

nasa sports like 99 i think they had this black background with little white dots supposed to make me feel like im in outer space or something with this small green font that said what my balance was.

they were pretty good at the time, better than a local i thought. customer service was ok and they paid everything was WU of course.

i remember one time i bet a monday night football game and it was -120 and -6.5 and i confirmed it. then i thought about what i just confirmed, i got irate and called back and demanded to speak to a manager, im like -120, -6.5?! im like its supposed to be -110! well of course you see -120 and +104 and all this other stuff is quite the norm now, and they explained to me this was a move to balance action and id never heard of something like that before. they eventually calmed me down and i said im going to make them pay for this. man its really funny looking back on it.
as far as betting off shore i have been doing that since 94

That's funny. I signed up for Nasa sports too--by accident. I thought they were a different book. Long story. Made a lot of money there but it took months for me to get it all out. They gave me every excuse in the book about why they were delaying. I think it was some old drunk named Chas who was the cs manager. The guy's been around.

Bowmans in 1995. They were phone-only and known as Sports Action International back then.

*ESB* Also known as the infamous English Sports Betting in 1996. Lucky for me me the paid out back then. About a year later, I got out before they became a scam shop.
