Probably has something to do with bigger schools talent pool
Smaller schools play more in the early bowls
Bigger schools more likely to have high end offensive talent making the defensive edge a bit smaller
Also teams may be more inclined to not care about being in some of these bowls
Even with a edge on defense they may not care about being in these bowls
Just a guess

Since I started tracking 3-4 years ago 45-25 64% but last year it fell off the cliff after new years. I thought this year I would track the better offense after new years just to see

Followed the system and took Fl Atlantic. I turned on the game and forgot Willie Taggart is the Atlantic coach. Immediately went to in game and bet memphis for double my Atlantic bet. Taggart is one of the worst coaches in ncaa, no clue how he even has a job. Literally an auto fade.

I was going with Memphis, just small because FA had a decent D and Memphis has some issues, but then I realized Taggart was the FA coach, and loaded up BIG, no way Taggart would handle a bowl game with a lousy offense and hang with Memphis.

I have actually been on the other side vs the better defense and Hawaii and Buffalo paid nice....other factors out weighed Defense angle.

Althought I must say tomorrow this play lines up for me Western Kentucky. Hate to go against Fred here but 3 of my parameters are signalling me to play the doggie
