Bought Skyfall, Flight and Lincoln yesterday

Watched Skyfall and wasn't as good as I thought it would be. First 40 minutes were great but then got kinda predictable and boring with too much of the old bag in it.

6/10 for me.

Both Lincoln & The Master but for different reasons than what I think you're talking about. Lincoln is, admittedly, Spielberg's most personal work and it took the man 20 years to finally make it. As part of Spielberg's legacy, it is a pivotal film, one of his most important, and will be very important in 20 years. To many, myself included, Paul Thomas Anderson is the closest thing to Kubrick there has ever been and is one of the finest filmmakers working today. His movies are always festival and critically adored, complex, wonderfully acted and usually lauded to the highest cinema degree. And as someone who only releases a film every five or so years, he is only now REALLY coming into his own as a true visionary. The Master is probably his most challenging work, and it's really showing his development. In my humble opinion, There Will Be Blood is the best film of the last 20 years and he's only entering his prime.

Was I the only one that found it difficult to understand what the heck Tom Hanks was saying much of the time in Cloud Atlas?

You know what I just realized, that movie, which was probably better than that piece of shit Argo or the pretentious Life of Pi, was not nominated for anything.

Honestly though, Argo was a mediocre movie that you forget about 10 seconds after you finish watching it. Cloud Atlas is easily better than most of the stuff that won.

Argo was okay but not Best Picture worthy. But Hollywood is so in love with itself that I knew it was probably going to win. What better self-promotion than a Hollywood movie based on a true story about Hollywood saving the day.

Ben Affleck just sucked the right dicks. That's what it's all about in Hollywood it seems. Half the shit that wins is forgettable?

Did anyone ever watch that piece of shit silent movie that won two years back?
