I think a big question will be how you handle and survive a lengthy streak of bad breaks and out of rythm handicappping. When you know you are depending on those bets to live and you are going in the opposite direction is when you will find out how good you are. Not saying you can't do it, just saying the pressure will be on

i love this question, pops up at least once a year. Ok, lets say your "big time" and have a $100,000 'roll. You put 50% ($50,000) to save your neck, and you play with the other 50% ($50,000) which makes sense. Assuming you are disiplined enough to play 2% of you avaliable 'roll on each play-$1,000. that would make a dime player, how many of you are that? other side of the coin, you need $2,500 a month for expenses, that means you need to win 2.5 units a month to break even. thats not that difficult, however how many of us can stop after winning what you need? i purpose this, start a thread playing with fake money and see how many of us can do it, win at least 30-units in tweleve months. seems easy, remeber your doing it for a living and risking at least $1,000 per wager.

10 years ago, you could do it easily with $10,000.

Now of days you'll need much more.

I would want 25 times my living expenses. If I spent 40,000/year, I'd want $1 Million to only gamble these days and do it comfortably.

At the moment I don't think you could pay *me* enough to go back to gambling FT. A lot of people who've never done it have a rather romantic vision of it that doesn't match reality. Frankly, being profitable wasn't the major problem, but more the repetitiveness, lack of challenge / mind stretching and lack of social interaction

How do you like Australia Santo as compared to Europe?

I like it. Aus is far more laid back than the UK, and whilst I liked Denmark the language/cultural barrier to be really accepted there was just a bit too high. Living in Brisbane feels a lot more natural, though I am told that Sydney/Melbourne are a bit more UK-esque.

Every "job" has its negatives. I'd rather deal with that compared to working a dead end 9-5 for some greedy corporation and dealing with all that nonsense everyday.

I'd probably need about a $10,000,000 bankroll.....

then I can bet my normal $100-$500 a game (actually, i'd probably cut it in half to $50-$250/game)....and use the other $9,980,000 to invest and live off of
