Soccer/Baseball/Football/Basketball/Tennis

Soccer especially tomorrow when I am going to watch Germany playing Brasil in my hometown. I just can invite everyone of you to visit Germany for the WC2006 next year and be a part of the greatest event in the world of soccer. You will enjoy the atmosphere for sure.

Anything where the odds are wrong. That doesnt mean I always win, but just go on a Books prices that you can depend on. Most British books are good in a certain sport, once that is accepted, you work from there.

Andy, I remember betting USA as a +350 dog to Mexico in the last world cup. Game was on at 5 am, I was drinking beer and getting rowdy. Was a real good time for sure. That was a very memorable world cup.

I wish the WC were more often.

Part of the charm of the WC is the once every 4 year aspect of it. While I am Canadian my parents and brother are from Portugal so we get the European championship inbetween which is a close second. The World Cup just means everything to these countries since one bad result and you never know when you are going to make it back. The World Cup makes the Super Bowl look like just another game.

Rob,
four years is ok. keep in mine that there are the continental championships every two years followed by the world cup two years later. I already attended Germany vs. Argentina last Tuesday and will attend Germany vs. Brasil tomorrow. It is just the ConfedCup but you already feel the hype here in Germany. Less than a year to go until the first kick off and all Germans are already hyped. Believe me, anyone of you guys visiting Germany next year will have unforgettable moments. Security is tight and there should not be a place for Hooligans in any of our towns as our police will be on the highest allert during the WC 2006. Even for betting you will get some great opportunities. I am not sure if you saw the line for Mexiko i guess it was around +800 or so to beat Brasil last week (what they did).
Dmmd, you got it 100% right. I guess nearly every country except the USA is following the WC closely and for all qualified countries it means everything to win the WC. The Superbowl is just local stuff but during the WC every nation stands united behind their team.

Rob,

That is the sort of situation that the exchange people take advantage of. Yesterday I laid the most stupid price all year long, England+59.5 runs against Australia, when the score was AUS 266, ENG 122 for 6, 15 overs left, I found enough Mugs to lay £300 @ evens. Before I left the PC to watch the game, I could have laid Australia @ 1/25, hedging my bet would have cost me £12. Because it was such a certainty it never came into my mind to hedge, of course, although England had no chance of winning the game outright, they played out of their skins. With a record last stand of 64 runs and a career best by Gough at 44, I lost my bet by 1 run. Just shows, you never know.

winbet, I made a similar cricket experience but in the opposite site this year. It was India against Pakistan and it was in-running. I took a shot at one team when it was +700. I never thought the bet has a chance but according to the run ratio they had in my mind. In case of a tie my team would have one due to the lower wickets (I guess they would have won it in that case). So they played 49.5 overs and one ball was left. My team was still up by one run and one or two wickets. Guess what: I lost it due to two scored runs by one run.

Jeez, what sports DON'T I bet...I spread myself out quite a bit to gain every edge that I can. Just remember, if you can't do it/don't have the time, there's usually someone else who can. Learn all you can about betting every sport, but don't be afraid to branch out and add the opinions of others in other sports that you trust. It makes a big difference!

Good points regarding the 4 years for the WC.

About 3 years ago I used to bet Australian football like crazy. I took a real real bad beat on essendon as chalk and I have'nt been back since. Was a lot of fun though.
