If the tariff rates are enforced exactly as Trump proposed using that flawed calculation, then of course we are going to see inflation.
I doubt the rates will stand though since they are so aggressive. Or at least the hope is this is just some bold move by Trump to shock the world and negotiate good terms for certain countries
Thing is we have good trading terms with the vast majority of countries. Tariffs were slapped on several countries that already have fair free trade agreements with us, hence why some are scrambling to talk to Trump
