I keep hearing Sidney Ponson, why the hell Baltimore would trade him is beyond me...How can teams just keep rebuilding? Ponson finally pitching well and they`d deal him?

I also here Giles could be dealt...Giles being dealt makes a little more sense but, why do teams keep starting over? At some point in rebuilding you have to stick it out...

I would not trade Ponson...It would have to be overwhelming and in baseball hot prospects dry up overnight....

WHO WILL BE DEALT?

Blue Jays

Corey Lidle
Kelvim Escobar
Carlos Delgado

The can't afford to pay these guys next year and Ricciardi would rather get some young prospects in and build a team like they did in Oakland.

Yeah right, like they would really trade Delgado! Knowing the sorry state of baseball that guy would end up with the Yankees as a DH or something. The guy is an MVP candidate each year, if you give him up you might as well kiss about 15,000 fans a game away because everyone will say you flat out gave up.

Bill.. the fans gave up along time ago in Toronto, the fan base is at about 20,000 per game regardless of who is in the line-up. They didn't come out when the jays had Roger Clemens and they aren't coming out in droves now either, this past Sunday Doc Haliday pitched, he has won 14 in a row (now 15) and still only 20,000 came out. So if you're thinking the fans will revolt if they trade Delgado then sadly your wrong.

They realistically have no chance at a wild card birth and J.P. Ricciardi is dead set on building a team with youth and prospects, Delgado and his huge salary don't fit into the plans and if the right offer of prospects comes in you can believe they will pull the trigger on a deal. it would be a great loss for the true fans of Toronto but you'll always continue to see 20K their every nite, only a pennant race in August or September will ever change that number.

Well if you were going to build a team I would do it with Delgado and Halladay to start, no matter what the cost. While Toronto isn't New York, they still are middle of the road revenue wise so they don't have to have a Royals or Expos type payroll. I could see them trading away Lidle or Escobar, both are just average starters who never have consistently lived up to their expectations, but Delgado produces year after year and he is the reason why guys like Wells developed into producers too.

Too many teams buy into this "Oakland" model. The A's got lucky, for every guy with credentials like Barry Zito there are 5 guys that turn out to be busts. Tim Hudson was never thought to be much of a prospect until he blossomed late. Call it good scouting, but there is certainly some luck factor involved. And even with all they have the A's still have never won a playoff series in this recent era!
