Question: "If we just gave all the bailout money to taxpayers, how much would we each get? I've seen $25,000, $300,000, $1 million - what's the real answer?" -- Miranda Marquit, Logan, Utah
<!-- /DATA FIELDS -->
Answer: $9,718.49

To arrive at that figure, CNNMoney.com took the total of the bank bailout, $700 billion, and added that to the proposed stimulus spending in the House of Representatives bill, $819 billion. That totals $1.519 trillion.

We then divide that number by 156.3 million, which was the total number of U.S. filers in 2008. So: $1.519 trillion divided by 156.3 million equals $9,718.49 per U.S. taxpayer.

Don't foget if you make too much money you don't get one ....even though you contribute the most tax dollars, you are ineligible if you made more than something like $65 or $70k per year.

I think that the number is a little higher than $70,000 a year, but I am not eligible I know that.

I've yet to hear of this being any sort of possibility. And does anyone know if that is AFTER taxes and all the other BS (the 100K part).

Someone with a news link?

By the time they give all the campaign "contributors" their kickbacks, our stimulus check will be about $100.

Actually we're confusing 2 different things.

If they just handed out cash instead of the ENTIRE STIMULUS BILL we would get the 9K figure....

The over 100K figure is the cost of each job created if we hit Sohertos figure of 3 million. ( 2.5 million of these will be the unemployed ppl u see on ur street corners and walking down ur street with ur neighbors T.V., we're going to pay them all 5-6 hunnerd a week and call them Youth Corp...but hey dont worry, u need sumbody to watch ur house while on vacation? give em a call!! maybe babysit ur kids or help ur wife with the groceries....cant hurt to ask since they'll be standing right outside UR DOOR!!)

You can get the totals at Heritage.org ...it comes to something like 191K per $45,000 job created. The bulk of which will not work their 1st day for at least 18-24 months..

Your Stimulus ck is an entirely different thing....its like 800 bucks and its his way of saying thanx for believing in Change...

It's something like $65-75k.. probably based on your adjusted earnings... I know I made too much last year to receive one and when I did my taxes I remember thinking it was fairly low cutoff...it was NOT over 6 figures. I would assume the IRS site would have a link.

I don't know if the parameters have changed for the 2009 stimulus check. I would assume if anything, they would have lowered the inelibility amount.
