High risk. High reward. All or nothing on your investment. Is their anyting even comparable? The key word is wagering gives you "LEVERAGE" and with that you can put thousands and thousands of dollars to work for you in a short span of days. Hell, with a 10k bankroll (playing $110 a day on average) I have put over a 140k to work this year and at a little under a 5% ROI I have made $6,500. I know that this can work in the opposite direction too (beleive me I lost a TON during the NFL).

I went to my financial advisor yesterday and listening to him talk about 10% ROI on my yearly investments just doesn't excite me(knowing my investment bankroll is 10k, heck thats 1k a year) I wanted to say that I have made that in 1 weekend betting (and have lost twice as much also). I know this sounds like a ad for GA but I just can't get into the "market" with any passion. Does anyone else have the same problems? What do you do? Leverage seems to be the thing that can make this happen. Are their are investments similar to sports wagering?

I was hoping you would be one of the reponders to this thread. Do you reccommend any books/sites that I can read up on this? As you can probably tell I like to learn all I can about something before I get fully involved. Thanks

plenty of good books and sites, do a google search..

if you read "Ken Roberts" stuff, take it with a grain of salt.. he gets you to first grade, in a 12 grade education..

there is a poster here (heart222) that is a broker for a large firm... maybe he will chime in..

there is nothing more fast paced and frenzied... i prefer trading the emini sp but have traded almost all markets, either options or futures..

commodity trading gets a bad name,, it is risky but what isnt... learn to play with stops, realize worse case scenario can happen...

be very careful in markets that are thinly traded and if you ever SELL options, be careful there as well..
