I agree with TTinCO, Grande is Grande. Hollywood will take up to 100K any given day on NFL. CRIS is also for big boys

When you say 100k - you mean if I have my account funded with 110k and I call in 100k on the Giants they'll take it?

Ok, I understand Vegas really doesn't like sportsbetting, but I'd imagine they still are ok with football (it being the sort of "acceptable" sport to bet on).

I know vegas has shit limits as well but if you really wanted 100K on a NFL side couldn't you get them to let you place it there?

Or would they just not be interested?

The reason why Vegas won't take thaty much is beacuse despite of runners, heavy players wouldn't like to have anything to do with the IRS. That, for one; you also need to consider the fact that corporate Vegas don't take high limits.

How much money does a Vegas book take on either side of a NFL game?

I figured it would be a LOT.

I Know this drops off for like every other sport and totals and stuff.

But would a 100K bet really screw over a NFL side?

I'm not really sure what they're taking now, but I think 10 K is HUGE in Vegas.

Not really, it's all about offsetting the action. Such a hit on a side would allow you to offer a really nice attractive number the other way. You would then write action for the next 5-10 min, until you balance the books. Moving the number to neutral ground again. Just to start all over again. Big books handle BIG numbers.

True. And it has got to a point where sharpies will behave like sharks around a piece of bloody meat (this is obvious for the focused eye, just by watchung rge screen) . They all want a bit. The key is to take advantage of this dog-eat-dog situation. In the end is more difficult to make money off of sharp guys, but when they are beating each other to the number, there's always a chance to book.

Don't know what a normal limit in Vegas is, but it was all over the news back in February when Jennifer Lopez bet $ 400,000.00 on the Tampa moneyline at the SB ... won $ 650,000.00 if I am not mistaken.

When I was still playing at SBG they said they would take up to $100k on a bet, and a friend of mine said that they would go way higher than that for preferred customers.

One thing I've never understood is why offshores sometimes have vastly different limits for online bets vs. phone-ins. Never has made sense to me.

Very simple.....they let people do whatever they want online. Anything worthy of attention comes over the phone & is subject to approval.

Does anyone at this forum know the real identity of "The Linemover" who was chronicled in all those articles a few years ago. (I am sure if you did you wouldn't post it anyway.) but...with the Vegas books supposedly having these "lookouts" with pagers to alert every one of bets he makes, how the hell can this guy keep his identity secret??? Seems like the offshores would know this guy inside and out and put limits on him and his "team" of cappers and computer geeks. Would love to always know his plays ahead of time though. Also I wonder what the hell his winning % is most years during football?.
