The information he provides is top notch. 3 deep depth charts for all 128 teams, position by position analysis, schedule. It's good to use to make your OWN opinions using the information. I would advise against using Phil's opinions. For one, he takes things from a straight up W-L perspective.

I never understood that. All the information he lays out on the positions and teams and then he chooses based on wins and losses mainly.

Too much useless fodder about players years before, who aren't around now.

Yes.. Way too much. He'll spend 3/4 of a page rambling about years before with surprise teams, then a small chart at bottom with this years teams with no analysis about them.

If you are true college football fans you should have his mag in front of you right now. No other magazine offers more information. It's the best CFB reference guide out there. Who cares who he has as his picks. That's just his opinion based on returning starters etc. He's going to hit a few and miss a few, just like the rest of us. And who cares about the rambling. If you've read his magazine at all in the last few years you know how to read it and where to look to get fast information...

It does have a lot of info for the upcoming years but as others have said 3/4 of the mag is old info. But for $10 its a good starting place to start research. I get it ipad version, the print is so small in the mag I can't read it. The ipad version is much easier to read

Phil tries to put on a non-gambling front, like he is not involved in the industry in any way but rather just discloses ATS information in case we were interested in that kind of thing. Meanwhile, the entire world knows he has been selling picks for 20 years.
