One of my fears regarding NETeller is that they are growing and attracting too much attention to their business. Since they are Canadian, it would be fairly easy for the US gov't to take a trip ac**** the border and pressure the Canadian gov't to demand that NETeller closes its business to US customers either due to terrorist funding or offshore gambling concerns.
Given that the debit card drawing lots of praise is run by a US bank AND EFTs go through the US banking system there are other ways for the folks in DC to make NETeller less attractive (or not an option) to US customers.
I like the appeared stability of the company but frankly I would prefer it if they ran their operations in someplace other than North America and used a non-US bank for the debit card.

Why do you say that? My guess is that they have been flying under the radar a long time. Think about how long it took for the US to decide that Paypal should stop funding gambling for its US customers.
Do you think they are well known by the US authorities? If so, why do you think they have left NETeller alone?

Thanks Dante, no offense taken. I'm generally not paraniod but I think the US banning transactions between US banks and companies like NETeller whose main business it deems questionable is a very real posibility.

I remember back in early 2001 when I tried to get a payout from 5 Dimes via Neteller they said they were ceasing Neteller transactions because Neteller was on the verge of being shut down. At first I thought it was a cash flow problem but they sent me the money by check very quickly. Obviously 5 Dimes has changed their stance since that conversation but it's not the only odd thing I've heard about Neteller. I think it is probably owned by a book. I don't know for sure but I have strong suspicions which book it could be.
Huge money flows in and out Neteller from Online poker rooms. Party Poker, PokerStars and others have more people playing there than the total customer base of many offshore books. They run tournaments where first place can be $100,000. That money is deposited in the players account where in most cases the player takes a transfer from Neteller to his bank. If Neteller transactions were banned in US I doubt if most of these online poker rooms could stay afloat.
