As a pro over thousands of hands? Less than 5%... A amateur over thousands of hands and not actively implementing strategy to become better... Luck could potentially be as high as fifty plus percent. See this is a tough question to answer. You give a pro luck and a weekend warrior the same luck a pro will optimally play that lucky hand the correct way and optimize the winnings. Luck has very little to do with the game at a high level. It's the know how to optimally play your positions, scenarios etc... That puts the pro's on a whole other level than a lucky fish.

I think Doyle's book is the Bible of Hold em. Mike Caro's chapter about reads is tremendous!

I don't play anymore, but when I was first starting out Harrington's book improved my game significantly.

Books are a good way to learn but it is tough to teach game theory through a book. There used to be quite a few pros who would video their online session and you could ask what?, when, why, based off of their recorded play. That was a great way to learn. I hate these books that go e you direction, but no reasoning.

You want poker training videos?? Here you go, every kind u can think of. These are full length not clips. They are kinda of unorganized. I dont know how they will view on browser but on mine the home page comes up and it looks like its all Omaha videos. But if click on the drop -down and view them oldest videos 1st then its all NL cash games.
Theses arent chumps either, its Phil Galfond and many more. Im not sure how they are allowed to post these so they may get taken down but there is more than u could ever find time to watch totally free.
