I know I know if you dont like it just skip it.

But this is really sad

Horse racing matchup head to head.

MEadowlands race 4
One horse is -210
the other is +140

Why does Olympic have to look like Keno?

Im not playing any Sunday football with them this week.....that is just sad to try and trick the player and scalp their own excess cash there. And people here complain about scalpers and bonus whores. Olympics behavior on this wager is just as bad.

a 60 cent line on a bet that has a 500 cap, they take off the board 30 minutes before the race?

This makes them looks so bad in my opinion

This is worse than the -115 both ways football props they have had (who will get first penalty)

yea they pay, yea the help when books go out of business, yea they have lots to offer AND YEA THEY SCALP from the PLAYERS every chance they get.

Things have changed at Olympic in the last year. They have a different person putting up the props and futures and he don't mind gouging the public. Check Olympics NFL MVP odds. Steve McNair -250. Why don't they just take him off the board if they are going to put up odds like that?

I guess they get enough action to where they do not need to be concerned here. I agree but have read about the gouging for sometime. It seems some efforts would be made to reduce the vig in todays market, but I am not on the inside there and do not know the procedures for looking into better value for the players. Still a nice option to choose from for alot of wagers.

There are a few reasons why you will see this happen with horse race matchups at Olympic -

1. No other sportsbooks are offering the matchup. So no competition to keep up with, and serving as the only game in town for the wager.

2. Too much action on one side (probably the favorite) already and balancing the odds too much the other way could cause a loss for them regardless of outcome.

3. Minimal effort put into the sharp-ness of the line with so many other lines and prop bets to worry about in NFL, NBA, etc. And no idea beforehand on what betting reaction they will get to their opening line.

4. Taken off the board 30 minutes beforehand so that bettors cannot monitor the odds board and decide that betting a horse in a matchup might be a better value than pari-mutually betting a horse to win. It is infrequent when this happens but I remember a few times when it has.

5. $500 max does not seem like much but if a bunch of $500 wagers come in one side they can easily lose thousands of dollars on a race even with a betting "window" of only a few hours.

6. Horse matchups are not always a 60 cent line. The line probably started out as a 30 or 40 cent line and got worse as the action got one-sided.

7. Other sports and prop bets have this same situation happening. Boxing is the best example with wagers on "No Draw" vs "Draw" (usually something like -4000/+1500). Or if you have a 20-1 chalk favorite in a fight with a line like (-2000/+1400). And this happens at every sportsbook - not just Olympic.

8. It's HARNESS RACING. Any horse can break stride causing them to finish dead last and thus be the loser of a matchup no matter who they are matched against. Crazy bad beats and upsets happen in all sports but require a lot more to happen compared to how un-predictably a horse can break stride in a harness race.
