If the Mets asked the Braves in that given situation this question... hey we will give an out if you let our base runners each move up. I guarantee the Braves say DEAL. So now we have a situation where both teams are happy? Logically that isnt possible. Someone has to be wrong, and IMO its the bunting team.

I had nothing on this game and have seen managers piss away many a rally over the years with this chicken shit approach....I guess thats the difference between American league fans and the minor (National) league.

Also there is no 100% right or wrong move in that spot.

So lets see the other night people were saying you play for the win when you're down on the road -tonight we're gonna play to tie with little ball giving up an out?

okay :suomi:

You have money on every single game the mets play. Especially when they play the BRAVES. That very well could have been the game that gets me the :money8: :money8: :money8: :money8: :money8:

I don't agree. If you're the road team, you try to win it there. It's not a horrible call what he did, but I thought Willie might take the bunt off when the count was 1-0. You know a fastball is coming down the middle.

Exactly...plus Franco is showing his age and not in any sort of groove...horrible call in that spot.

Who would you rather have at the plate:

Gotay 1st and 2nd no outs

or

Franco 2nd and 3rd 1 out
Reyes 2nd and 3rd 2 out if Franco doesn't deliver

No doubt I would rather have 2 chances with clutch hitters instead of 1 with Gotay who doesn't have much experience

Franco uses one of the heaviest bats in baseball. That thing must weigh 47 ounces. Its time for him to lighten up the bat alittle. A few adjustments and he should be good to go for a few more decades.

Here's the problem with bunting. You have Franco coming up next who's a free swinger. Atlanta doesn't have to throw a strike with first open. You don't want the winning run on first, but worst case scenario is you set up the double play if you lose the batter or Julio goes fishing and puts himself in a hole.

Cox knows him better then anyone.

Come to think of it, the Mets were probably better off with Franco up and runners at first and second, atleast that way the Braves would have pitched to him..:missingte

I'm not saying a bunt is completely out of the question just not what I would do and many managers would not bunt there.
