The significance is that it's vindication for the Iraqi people and will help to convince them to move forward. That is a good thing. However, I doubt that it will make the insurgents decide to stop. And it doesn't make us any safer ehre because Saddam was never a threat to us. The threat is as great as ever and was made worse by this ill-conceived war.
Beofre it gets miscontrued, once again, I am glad Saddam was captured...and yet at the same time, it doesn't change the fact that the war was strategic idiocy.

All he was was a convenient target to beat up on, because the military with all its might, couldn't find a bearded terrorist hiding in the desert.
Finding Saddam, while commendable and momentarily uplifting, has ZERO to do with the war on terror and will do NOTHING to stop the root causes of 911 and the disease of islamic fundamentalism
