NOT INCLUDING GETTING PAID!!! THAT ONE IS OBVIOUS.

personally i find good costumer service to be very important, but also, the lines must be competitive and i like to see a nice selection of different wagers such as prop bets.

so really i cant decide what is most important to me. CAN YOU?

I used to think it was a combination of customer service and software.

Then I realized that 9 out of 10 of these off-shore books don't know what customer service even means by American standards.

Now the only thing that matters is competent software with thorough account history.

Why wouldn`t they know what American customer service means?

I thought most were ran by American`s...

How hard can this be to be polite on a telephone? Or is it the foreign exchange and cultural differences that just can`t be overcome

Just give me someone who can talk politely on a telephone , THATS ALL I ASK!

Most important (after getting paid) is low minimum deposits. I only like to deposit what I'm going to bet and, since I usually only bet $25 a game, that knocked out all the good books that make you post up at least $50.

Of course, I still make a bet with either Greek or 5Dimes, but I have to really love their number to post up twice my normal bet size.

Of couse, they have to take free neteller deposits. They also shouldn't have any strings attached for withdrawls, but can see past this in the right circumstances (once again, 5Dimes and their 15 dollar fee Tuesday-Sunday).

Other factors I look at (but aren't dealbreakers) are:

* - Easy to navigate site: Some of these sites go hogwild with their use of frames (Hello, BetGameDay). You're bookies, not Microsoft. Keep it simple.

* - Automatic Credit: If I've decided to play a game at the last minute, I can't wait for someone to manually credit a neteller deposit. SIA and BetGameDay automatically credit my account when I deposit with them. I tried getting down on a hockey game last week with 5dimes and posted up with 20 minutes to go before the game. After waiting 15 minutes for the money to be manually credited, I cancelled the transfer and moved it to SIA (who got my money when my side lost).

* - Grading: As much as I like to play at SIA, I had to drop them entirely during football last year. They couldn't grade games that would end at 8pm and that kept me out of west coast games. This has never been an issue with anyone but them.

I know this list may sound nitpicky to some people, but everyone has their pet-peeves, and these are mine.

Never call in bets, and rarely have issues, so I don't worry about customer service. Also don't move money around that much, so speed of payout is not an issue.

What I look for:
Easy-to use software
Low minimum bets (I'm not big-time yet)
Variety of sports and props
Site rarely slow or unaccessible
Free payouts on occassion
Quick to credit deposits

Other than security of funds I like things like reduced juice, reasonable withdrawal fees (if any), quickness of the site to navigate and get bets down. It is also nice the one's that don't time out since I always have more than one book open but it wouldn't keep me from playing there. Also at the very minumim at least reasonable customer service. Nothing turns me off more than a book that lets me know I am the last person in the world they want to be talking to.

While some books have definitely improved lately, most of the sites -- even for top shops -- look like they were designed by a mildly retarded twelve-year old using Front Page and sniffing Scotch-Gard(tm)

One of the best sites I've ever seen for a book was for GameBookers. Shame they're no good for much but soccer as far as lines and selection go.

If your #1 concern is not the financial stability of the book, you have your priorities screwed up.

Nothing else matters when you get stiffed.

Three things and I have said them all before..
1.Good will..The customer must feel about the book the way the book feels about him..His business should be appreciated and respected..
2.Good customer service..His needs should be the priority..If a gentlemen is considered a good customer then he should get the best # available by the book..
3.Timely payouts..The $ he wins is his and it should be treated that way..We should always pay as graciously as we receive..
