What is the most important thing to you for horse betting?

Best odds is my key aspect. Sure I like to do the odd exacta now and then but for profit making the best odds/lowest vig has got be the most important. Your views please.

Playing WIN ONLY bets at New York(14%) and Florida(15%) tracks which offer the lowest hold percentage and playing at a shop with a good Rebate program(Pinnacle 7%).

Having said that, only play the horses for fun and the action.

STRUT888 - So if win betting is the most important then if you could bet with a vig of about 1-2% instead of 14-15% - ie: at better than track odds surely thats got to be the best deal - correct?

Horse racing not my expertise, but I would reckon so. Possibly some manipulating of Pick-3 progressives, Pick-6, etc., may be better odds. Maybe some horse players can shed more light on this.

Never thought about it much. Horses are a fun side hobby/thing. I think paying of full track odds and rebates are important. The rebates because, well, they are available.

Get out the qtips and clean out your ears.

There is often more positive expected value in bets with a higher number of permutations. Hear me kiddo? Rather pay 10% and have 1200 trifectas to bet, than 5% and have 8 potential win bets.

Seems a tough concept for you to grasp, I'm figuring at this point that may never happen.
