Let It Ride was introduced in casinos in 1993, and was created by the people who manufacture those automatic shuffling machines, Shuffle Master, Inc. The house edge in Let It Ride is 3.5% for the "basic" payouts, and on the game's "bonus" pay table, the house edge can be as high as—hold your breath—36.5%. Other numbers of interest: The true odds of receiving a royal flush are 1 in 649,350, but the payout is typically 1,000-to-1. The odds of being dealt four of a kind are 1 in 4,165, but the payout is usually 50-to-1.

If one is allowed the luxury of looking at a couple other players hands at a table.........you can gain a small advantage.

Most casino dealers and pit bosses frown upon this now, but for all practical purposes, one can still do it if not making it look obvious.

In its infancy, it was easy to do.

GREAT stuff Fish! Thanx

Funny, I played LIR last Friday night at Mohegan Sun and a lady says I'm silly for not playing the bonus. You get $20,000 for $1 if you hit the RF! I told her it was a sucker bet and she scoffed at me. I didn't know it was that high though! What did you say 36.5% I think? Wow! Wish I cold have rattled those off.

One slight error in your odds above are this!

You list 1000 to 1, but that of course is only on 1 bet, but you get 3 bets in this game. Almost no one would fold who suited high cards.

More importantly is when you are talking about 4 of a kind.

Obviously, you are sitting on a pocket pair, so you keep all bets which are now winners depending on the pair.

Looking at other players hands can help you by not taking the first 2 bets if you have a pair of 4's lets say if your neighbor has a 4 as well

Let it Ride really is a fun game to play after getting abused at the BJ tables. I'm quite fond of it.
