The 6 put them in the lead, so they didn't "need" the PAT. The QB (may have been Michael Bishop) took a knee on the PAT kick, incorrectly thinking that he'd run the final 2 seconds off the clock. KSU won, but did not cover.
I may have a detail or two wrong there, as I spent the next couple of hours in a catatonic state.
