Our town fair is the oldest in the US, 250 year anniversary this year.
I use to ho every year as a kid & teenager, but as I got older, I phased out if it.
I remember seeing the lobster boy, & other freaky people on display at the fair in the 1980's.....no way would they allow that stuff now.
My favorite was playing the rigged games, yes rigged, because our newspapers had a huge story for 2 years on how some games were rigged & impossible to win at......like the milk cans that you had to throw a softball into the hole, but it was impossible, because the ball could never fit into it.
Always won gold fish tho, that was fun, & my brother always won these huge stuffed animals & gave them to my mom.
As a child, ages 10 to 15 I enjoyed the fair very much going with my parents, but as you get older, you rather hang out with friends, & the fair has a different feel to you as you age.
Never liked the rides tho........& the best was the food as well.
We also have some pretty good concerts every year.......
