Atlantic Sportsbet ("ASB"), formerly Superbet was owned by MIH, South Africa's leading pay TV company. ASB is situated in the Western Cape and licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board as a bookmaking operation.

In September 1999, management and eCompany acquired ASB from MIH as the latter exited all of its gaming-related operations. The largest sports bookmaker in South Africa, ASB recommenced operations on 1 October 1999 to coincide with the start of the World Cup Rugby. It succeeded in retaining a significant proportion of the Superbets customer base.

In April 2001, ASB became the first company worldwide to launch on the Internet using the LiveBet Online platform. Results have been exceptional, with customer growth exceeding 30% per month since launch! Today, over 50% of ASB's bets are struck over the Internet. ASB is the only licensed Internet bookmaker in South Africa and the LiveBet Online software has been exhaustively tested by the Western Cape Gaming and Racing Board.

the LiveBet referred to above:

The core platform that eCompany has developed in the field of interactive gaming is the LiveBet Online sports betting platform.

</TD></TR><TR vAlign=top align=left><TD colSpan=2>
For a traditional bookmaker seeking to enter the rapidly growing field of Internet gaming, eCompany offers a seamless and instant solution including a web front-end, a sophisticated risk management system, integration to telephone and physical betting activities, a back-office client administration system, access to streamed content and a secure real-time payment authorisation system. In addition, eCompany advises the client on regulatory and fraud risk issues and facilitates the establishment of licensed and secure operations. For a sports or casino portal wishing to provide an online sports betting service, the Livebet Online Managed SportsBook platform also includes integration with a major, reputable and licensed sports bookmaker who will hold and manage the wagering risk. For smaller bookmakers, LivebetOnline provides a hosted ASP solution that allows these businesses to operate their own sports betting websites that are hosted via a central server environment.

Core product modules include:

 • Telephone betting and cash bets
 • Fixed odds horses
 • Fixed odds sport (including handicapping, multiples, each way and predictions)
 • Spread betting
 • Line betting
 • Fixed odds lottery
The LiveBet product has been developed with the global market in mind, and is highly flexible and scalable in its architecture. The system also includes all relevant back office capabilities, such as risk management, administration, payments and multiple currencies. When sold to a portal as the Managed SportsBook service, the platform is bundled with the services of Demmysportsbet.com Gibraltar, one of eCompany's bookmaking development partners, to provide an "end-to-end" platform solution. Livebet has developed an ASP version of its platform to offer to smaller bookmakers.
LiveBet has a strong marketing and sales team in place, including individuals with extensive knowledge of the international online gaming and bookmaking industries. Dedicated resources are located in South Africa, the UK and Australia. Marketing efforts were only launched in June 2001. Nonetheless, we have secured licenses with South Africa's largest sports bookmaker, Atlantic Sportsbet, Demmysportsbet.com, one of only 7 major licensed bookmakers in Gibraltar, and a substantial Asian consortium. Each of these operators selected the LiveBet platform after reviewing other systems offered worldwide.

If you're just going to bet the playoffs and bowls and need a low rollover qualification, Bodog has 10% bonus if you deposit via your checking account and you only have to roll it 1x. The bad thing though is there lines might not be the best-- seems like the favorites are always higher there than at other places.
