Anyone heard anything? I can see that guy toughing it out for one more start, but I'm not sure hes physically capable of two.

He was bleeding into his sock in game 6 because doctors the day before sutured ( stiched) his skin around the tendon to help keep it in place. I think it means they stiched his skin to the tendon. Sounds nasty and it had to be killing him pitching on it, I guess hes on some painkillers during the game though.

The next day he must have felt like someone cut his ankle off.

MR SMITH-

I read in the GLOBE that they will try the same procedure again for his future starts.

What a warrior this guy is!

they should build a statue of him outside Fenway in the off-season if they win the world series. no way they get by game 6 in NY without Schilling going out there pitching on 1 foot. Red Sox only got 4 runs that game, but Schilling made it stand up.

And there going to need him to do it two more times. The next series is going to be hard, they have to ask Schilling to tough it out two more times.

This is a persistent rumor, but it is NOT true. He had a bit of blood on his sock because the doc gave him an injection of anti-inflammatory just before game time.

The skin-to-tendon suture story is bogus.

The doctors wanted to do it the day of the game, Schilling told them to do it a day early. This was from his post-game interview
