Having a credit account with a book has to be an advantage.... almost no hassles moving money, etc. But what is it worth in points or on the money line? For instance, do you take a half a point the worst of it at your credit shop vs WU money to a book where you don't have credit? And if you're a 'large' player, is it worth not always getting the best number if you can avoid the hassles of moving large amts of cash with being tracked? With the increased scrutiny on money transfers how much is having a credit account, or multiple credit accounts worth to a player?

Not to many years ago the entire bookmaing industry (save Vegas) was run on credit. As far as transferring money goes there is still the settle up process involved, so credit play does not completely remove all money movement hassles. Lines should be the same credit or post-up for the average player. Most credit players deal with an agent who usually but not always works in their geographical area.

Wil,

As far as the different lines go, I was talking about different shops. Say, Yanks are -140 at your credit shop and -138 at a post up shop that you're going to have to get send some money to if you want the -138. Is the 2 cents worth the extra hassle? Plus, there's a cost to money. But I guess the real advantage would have to be no paper trail.

Max - chasing numbers is the same credit or post-up. Many of the bigger credit players offshore play at several outs, so they can look for the best line for any given play. Playing on credit can be dangerous for some because it allows players to bet with money they may not actually have. Not saying that this is the rule but rather the exception. Post-up takes that risk out of play for bookmakers. Paper trail worries are always a problem even with credit because at some point the player has to either pay or collect.
