My thinking on this is that they BOTH should be a MIN of 6'0

Covers corners need to be 6'1 and up IMO

What is this business with these short 5'9 guys trying to cover the rand moss's of the league

It is just plain STUPID IMO

coaches think speed makes up for size, but they are mistaken at these 2 positions.

prototype receiver

ver 6' 200 pnds. he doesn't have to have blazing speed. needs to run good routes, come back to the qb when ihe is in trouble.i think that your slot receivers are the best-- he can't be scared to take a hit across the middle, needs to have good hands ( this is the easiest part)people with good hands are a dime a dozen -- looking for the total package

prototype corner : 6' to 6'3 .speed is more important at this position compared to receiver, but he need size to go up and get the rebound (football). he needs to have good instinct as to when to look for the ball (reading the receivers eyes). when the ball is in the air , he needs to think of himself as the receiver and go for the ball, instead of faceguarding or just trying to get in the way -- look for the damn ball. he needs a short memory

good write up vol..why they draft ANY WR or CB that is UNDER 6'0 is BEYOND me, maybe for speed but HIGHT wins over speed IMO

I disagree on your comment of speed wins over height. You can have a 6'3 slow cornerback matched up on a 6'0 fast reciever and the reciever will win the matchup most of the times. As for volhound comment on looking at the recievers eyes your mistaken you don't look at their eyes you look at their hips. On zone the db looks at the qb, and on man if and when played you look at the recievers hips not eyes

As much as you guys hate TO, he is the prototype receiver.

Big and bigger is your answer, as long they're still quick...and that's the way we're evolving.

the reason randy moss is great because he has both 6'4' height and 4.3 40 speed

you think slow 6'3 corners can stop moss

recievers now have to be able to have "seperation"

corners can stop flat out speed. some of the fastest recievers dont know shit about pass routes and zone defences. thats why track guys mostly dont make it and why every team has a 3rd "steve largeant" type reciever who knows how to get open.

CB- Deion type that can tackle good and hard.

WR- Easy, a Jerry Rice clone. Forget Moss.
