coaches think speed makes up for size, but they are mistaken at these 2 positions.
prototype receiver
ver 6' 200 pnds. he doesn't have to have blazing speed. needs to run good routes, come back to the qb when ihe is in trouble.i think that your slot receivers are the best-- he can't be scared to take a hit across the middle, needs to have good hands ( this is the easiest part)people with good hands are a dime a dozen -- looking for the total package
prototype corner : 6' to 6'3 .speed is more important at this position compared to receiver, but he need size to go up and get the rebound (football). he needs to have good instinct as to when to look for the ball (reading the receivers eyes). when the ball is in the air , he needs to think of himself as the receiver and go for the ball, instead of faceguarding or just trying to get in the way -- look for the damn ball. he needs a short memory
