I've thought for 2 seasons now that they are much better with Sproles in there............LT looked like he was ready for Dancing With(out) The Stars yesterday. No explosion at all, couldn't find a hole if he was standing outside of the Grand Canyon. Just didn't understand coaches not using Sproles more, just 3 rushes, but a very formidable 33 yards. LT will be gone next season and they will be better for it.

Take a look at this list. There are only a handful of RBs in the SB era who have topped the yards per game leaderboards for more than a year or two:
Eric Dickerson (5 years)
Barry Sanders (4 years)
Emmitt Smith, Earl Cambell, OJ Simpson, Gale Sayers (3 years each)
These are considered the best RBs ever. Take a look at the guys we consider greats from recent times. They are lucky to be on there once or twice. RBs careers are short with steep cliffs!

Good stuff. So Priest Holmes is the only RB ever to lead the league in rushing in his 30's. Every other player was in their 20's. Amazing. And Holmes didn't play until he was 25 and then only had 2 full seasons under his belt when he led. You can basically count the number of starts a RB can handle and it's pretty much going to be less than 100 for a career.
Seems like RB's perform best somewhere between their 3rd and 5th years in the league, though some can catch fire right away, like CJ and AP. But yeah, they probably will continue to dominate for maybe 2-3 more years and then start to decline. You gotta always think ahead with RB's.
