Anyone know if Big Ed took another coaching job after not getting the Southern Cal gig? What's the guy doing right now or planning to do?

Also, whatever happened to John L. Smith (1 year Arkansas head coach?) Butch Davis? Houston Nutt? Phil Fulmer?

:think2:

Reminds me that I haven't checked up on the Fulmer cup recently.

CL--

I thought I heard at one point Ed was hanging around the general Tennessee vicinity, I believe it involved the pros as an AC. Obviously that didn't pan out and believe it's been about 2 months since I came by that information. So I decided to Google "Ed Orgeron's new job"... and for the first time I can think of, Google failed to report anything, even anything related. It just froze up as if to tell me there's nothing here... so move on. How weird. So I repeated it and it seemed to take forever but it finally responded with essentially nothing. That pretty much sums it up.

Fulmer was assisting East Tennessee State (or one of those programs) in a start-up football program. He wasn't interested in coaching, I think he was just assisting w/ his name recognition. He was apparantly in the hunt (or expressed interest) for a couple of smaller jobs this last hiring season.

Tennessee had 9 or so players all arrested at the same party for underage drinking, contributing to minors, interfering w/ an officer type charges. All misdemeanors (I think).

UGA just had the 4 players busted double-cashing checks. I'll be curious to see what happens there. That may not seem like a huge deal, but it shows a poor lack of personal character and bad judgement. College kids getting drunk or high (and having run-in's w/ the law) are common...but to knowingly (more than once) cash a check twice is just plain stealing and using poor judgement.
