<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I had some friends look into doing a poker site a few years ago and they said it was going to take well over a million to get something decent. And that was just for the software and setup. That didn't include a full time staff or any advertising. These weren't college idiots either. It was 2 lawyers and a successful insurance guy. Good luck if you try.

had someone do it three yrs ago. he still struggle., making money but the workers are always messing up. you would have to be there 24/7. getting enough players, the way things are, would be very tough.

Do yourself a favor and start with as little as possible and spend as little money as possible EXCEPT on some kind of advertising. Get some computers and start up a web-site even before you open up for business.

You need to get the name of the sportsbook out on the internet. This is the most important process. Getting customers is the most important part of the business. Buying alot of computers and office space should be done on a "need" basis.

It's not really that tough except getting the customers and not over spending at first.

Some people start these businesses and keep them running on NO MONEY and get away with it.

You put up good lines and a good selection and you will get customers. Customers know if your a good book just by seeing your lines and knowing they will get paid.

There's not much more to it.

Ace-Ace...why don't you fly down here and ask questions from the guys that know....guys from Digital Solutions, other reputable bookmakers down here, and various tech and phone people...if you do it now, you will be ready for football season....lots of office space down here for rent....you have nothing to lose at all, just contact Wilhelm and ask for his advice..

Seperate thread, but i've always wondered just how locals do this shit. Seems like it would be a giant pain in the ass especially for baseball with games every freaking day. Keeping track of who owes what and who owes you and then tracking people down, keeping lines straight, etc.

Seems like a huge headache.

You could rent a house and run it out of there paying $1,000 a month. Just make sure it is in a business zone so you have no problem getting the patent.

Computers you can get for as low as $400 a piece for clerk machines maybe cheaper if you can find the right contacts and buy enough machines.

Internet is cheap and labor is even cheaper right now as the average pay is not more than $800 a month per clerk and those are experienced ones.

Sportsbook software is expensive and there is nothing you can do about it. They have you by your nuts. You don´t pay and your licenses expire and they hold all your info. hostage....

Then you need to get your name out there which is a huge wad on advertising.......

BUT the biggest problem right now is processing and until you get that first it ain´t worth even looking into all the rest.....

Digital Solutions down here could really get you all set up and running for a fee and answer all your questions

Good Luck,
FI

Not to dash your dreams, but the door in CR is closing...
If I were you I'd look into Panama.
If you want to do something with that lot in CR, build youself a Dunkin' Donuts...you'll make money hand over fist.

Many don't mess with bases. Not worth the potential risks with fewer players.

Because there weren't any down there the last time i was down there.
Also there weren't many places to get a quick bite to eat and some great
coffee so Dunkin Donuts would be a great business in CR in my opinion. The ticos would go gaga over the donuts. You just need something like
that to get them to open their wallets.
