The only reason I like it is because the NFL season is 1 week longer

It's enough to send a degenerate like me to drink. I need action today not 2 weeks from now!! Oh, I allready drink.. Well then; I won't have a bankroll in two weeks, its not fair! Its total bullshit. They should play the Superbowl tonight on Monday Night Football. So what if they dont get a night off. Baseball and Basketball do it.

Seeing how The Super Bowl is by far the single most popular event in American sports, two weeks does not seem that long to wait. Lets look at the other sports: College football, we wait around 6 weeks from the time the regular season ends until we crown a champion. MLB, NBA, and NHL, once you get through the several rounds of prelimanry play, all 3 have 7 game playoffs that take around two weeks to finally crown a champion. Collge basketball has nearly a month long tournament to come up with a winner.
Even horse racing's Triple Crown is spread out approximately 8 weeks. The NFL makes a lot of money during the extra week, and many of their fans, especially the younger ones, enjoy some of the different activities leading up to the game. The ball will be in the air soon enough, if the hype bothers you, make believe it is a political election, and ignore it, like most of the American population does.

wil.

Personally I like the 2 weeks between. More time to prepare and helps injuries. Better for the bettor.

I think it is good for two reasons. First of all you get rested teams with fewer banged up players. Also you it adds value to teams that are well coached and who can make up better plans in the two weeks. If you are saying this is your best team then you really should make the effort to make sure they are playing their absolute best. This year it is a good trade-off. The Panthers benefit more physically since they played an extra game and didn't get the break the Pats did. The Pats have a coaching staff that would appear to be advantaged by the extra time. So it should about even out. Yeah the extra hype isn't that great, but I think getting the best teams ready to play their best is a fair tradeoff.
