instead of having divisions , just have nfc and afc .

you play everyone in your division 1 time . you play 1 rival 2 times. 16 game schedule. 8 home / 8 away .

top 6 make playoffs in each league like now with top 2 getting byes.

basically get rid of the divisions and the playing those teams twice each.

play everyone .

Interesting.

I think also you switch up every other year and play the other conference the next year. Basically your proposing a baseball type schedule from back in the day before inter-league play. So each conference team plays the same schedule for the year. I think that would very fair. I like it.

One thing that I dont think gets enough discussion and I feel something us as gamblers dont use enough with NFL is strength of schedule. I think this is a big facotr on how teams should be measured obviously but really isnt when people discuss NFL teams.

i would even be in favor of the conferences playing each other in the playoffs .

meaning the top 2 teams in each league get a bye .

this weekend would look like this

# 3 nfc vs # 6 afc
# 4 nfc vs # 5 afc

# 3 afc vs # 6 nfc
# 4 afc vs # 5 nfc

might actually end up with the best 2 teams playing in the super bowl .

True. People say how unfair NE not making the playoffs at 11-5 but SD was 8-8. SD's nonconference included the NFC South, while the Pats played the NFC West.

if pats or dolphins played steelers or ravens schedule, they would've been 8-8 at best.

Unfair if your one rival that you play twice is a good team, while somebody else gets the Lions twice.

For that sixteenth game how about playing the team in the other conference with the same seed # as you from the previous year?

got to have some way to get to 16 games so their are 8 road and 8 home.

only way i could think of was to keep the rivalries in tact.
