I personally think it's a pretty selfish act but interested to hear what the boys at the RX have to say.

She is a bio-terrorist if she enters the public. She should be treated as someone who commits attempted murder and also domestic bio terrorism.

More sideshows from our government to distract the public while they slowly strip us of all our rights and freedoms

forced internment to "protect society",...where have we seen this before?

It's a disease that you could have for days and not know it. I'd expect a health professional to at least be aware of this and take max safety precautions if she was exposed. Feeling alright just doesn't cut it when you can go a few weeks without symptoms. Nurse is being selfish. Just needs to stay at home for three weeks for the greater good IMO.

You do realize you may not show symptoms right away with Ebola right?

It's not "right away", it's several days and she tested negative after coming back from whatever african hellhole she was in. Read the Reuters article: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/30/us-health-ebola-usa-idUSKBN0II1SP20141030

This is just another example of government overreach in the guise of "protecting society". When will people wake up?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

And you also realize the doc being treated in NYC was in the exact same situation as her and he's about to die in a few days right? He could've exposed many people.

From the reuters article I referenced above: Medical professionals say Ebola is difficult to catch and is spread through direct contact with bodily fluids from an infected person and is not transmitted by asymptomatic people. Ebola is not airborne.

the law says they can only detain you for the amount of time it takes to reasonably determine that you have or don't have a disease that is on the list the President makes, which ebola is on this list. and they can only detain you if they suspect you of interstate travel.

only way around this is during time of war, where they can detain you as long as they like with or without cause.

so what will need to happen is the law will need to be changed, or they will need to declare war.

this nurse is the pawn that is being used to change the law in order to allow our government to detain us for as long as they like under the guise of our own safety.

stay thirsty my friends

How many people in the US have died of Ebola? One? Two? In comparison, I wonder how many Americans have died from dog attacks in the same time period.

The only way to be infected with Ebola is having direct contact with bodily fluids of someone who is already infected (which is why only medical personnel who were in Africa or otherwise treating infected Ebola patients are the ones getting it).

I think there is a lot of fear mongering hyped by a media who loves any scary story. This is not an airborne disease.

I don't think she should continue to work in a hospital in the interim but most Americans seem to think if they walk in the same grocery store as her, they'll contract Ebola which is just not the case.

She directly treated Ebola patients which means her chance of having it is through the roof. The safe and prudent thing to do is to be responsible and abide by the direction of all medical health professionals. This isn't about her.

while it's true more people die from car wrecks or dogs or flu or whatever...

the reason people are concerned (not even sure why i need to explain this) is because of the high mortality rate of ebola.

70% of the people that are in a car accident don't die, 70% of people bit by dogs don't die, 70% of people that get the flu don't die.

right now the chance of me catching ebola is small... I want to keep it that way. so do a lot of other people.

the government uses fear to install new laws, looks like they have a winner this time

EverFresh - I'm not against you when I ask the following. Just curious on your take. I hear you talk about the govt overeach to take over our society. What can you not do now that you could do 20 years ago? Has anything changed as far as your freedom as a person in the last 20 years?

Not sure what this even means.

But if there was even a slight chance you have have a very deadly disease that could be spread, most sane people would do the right thing and just comply with what the medical professionals are telling them to do.
