I did not see it so I really cant make a call on how unrealistic it was to catch it (eg. ball lands 100 feet away) but as a pitcher, you want to see your fielders at least try if its even reasonable to make the catch.... if he could have caught it and didnt, it flat out sucks.

dodgers offense is anemic....what a bunch of losers...

I dont think it was a clear cut case that if he dove for the ball he would have caught it. It could have went either way, but I think if any other pitcher on that team was on the mound he would have took a chance and dove for it. Perez opened his big mouth about the offense in the papers and his teammates took exception to that and I think that may have had something to do with the non dive by Green.

He had absolutely no chance to catch the ball. It was a 2-0 game. If he dives it's probably a double, takes the DP out of the equation and could endanger the lead. No-hitters are for show, wins are for dough...the pitcher getting upset there showed where his skewed priorities may be. That's my opinion.

Shawn Green is a bum. The question is not whether he should of dove for it, the question is: What the hell is Green playing almost at the warning track in right field for a right handed singles hitter? That pop-up in medium deep right field would have been caught easy by anybody playing the proper depth.

agree with D2 - you have to keep that runner on 1st base and keep the DP alive. there is no way he is going to catch that ball so diving wouldn't have made a difference.

i also agree with chuck - what the hell was green playing as if barry bonds was up? i don't think green should get the blame on this one, though. i'm willing to bet the coaching staff had him playing where they wanted - not where he wanted.

if i were playing right field in that situation, i would have dove for the ball,, however in Green's defense, you posistion your outfielders deeper in that situation, you dont want to give up the double,, the no-hitter did not play into any posistioning decision,, you guys know they play deeper and guard the line at first and third base in those situations..

He should of ran faster to the ball then he would have had a real chance. If it was someone like Ichiro out there, he would have been there waiting for that pop up..

Green got a horrible jump and then couldnt find the ball in time in the sun, was basically not concentrating. Ichiro is 10 times the player Shawn Greren is. I would rather have Mondesi back than this piece of garbage Shawn Green.

Rail:

Mondisi is too busy getting fukked up drinking Brugal rum when he's in the Domincan.

Green's a better all around player. Raul got no arm

Kind of weird that no thread was started on this topic yesterday here or across the street. I wonder why that was?

The Hebs control the media. Hell, the Heb's are everywhere, here, there, everywhere. It's nice that we have guys like you to help keep the Jewish media inline..

Greene's our "great white hope", and the Jewish media won't let you deface Shawn Greene.

You know his pops, I'm sure Ira Greene will confirm all that to you.
