Nonsense, its lack of funds. In most cases its just not enough money to properly compete. The other variables follow immediately thereafter once the cash is gone.

In the offshore industry you have to have the advertising dollars to hit all the advertising mediums to build an enduring customer base. Magazines, journals, internet protocols and that cost millions. Moreover, you need sufficient funds to pay quickly without re***** and a congradulations.

The offshore business, like it or not is going corporate, so hold on to your jock straps, cause it will not be good fot the players. Everything they do will be assessed by the bottom line and that means keeping payouts to a min., raising juice and decreasing incentives, sprinkled with BS marketing endeavors like winning a "house". Players that win will be "scorned" , the bottom line is all that will matter!

Zero business acumen.

Starting with a mission statement and ending with cash flow projections.

With all the exchanges out there these days there is zero reason even the smallest ship shouldn't be able to find some wind.

And when the wind is'nt blowing, what then?

Sorry, SP its not that easy, its nice nad easy to generalize but it comes down to cash.

However, innovation is out there lurking and one great idea could shake the business up.

First off saying innovation is the key to success is a generalization and false. Care to name some innovation that a new book offered that made them instantly solvent?

Thanks to the exchanges the wind is always blowing, and failure of the books to realize this and other facets of their business is the primary reason books go out of business, a classic case of lack of business acumen in their own business.

Cash? Sportsbook.com has been losing money for almost a decade and is still open. Canbet lost money for seven years and is still open, the availibility of $$$ is directly tied to a successful business plan.
