I keep a handwritten journal which shows daily $ total amounts of wins or losses. I also have a column showing running totals for each year updated daily in addition to a column of total balance in all books, also updated daily. Winning entries are in black and losses are in red.
BTW, when on a winning streak it is important that I use the same pen. The first time a red entry appears I then discard the black pen [and it must be black and not blue--blue is bad take my word for it] which has now betrayed me and is no longer useful. The first day I win again, I use a new one. This helps cut down on the red entries. If there are too many red entries in a row, I also discard that particular red pen and try using another one. That works every time because inevitably I get back to the new black pen.
I also list every book individually with my balance in each--yes updated daily. Each deposit and withdrawal and method of deposit and withdrawal monthly, I also record on the same page.
All of this takes but a few minutes a day. Each new month I carry over the totals to the top of the page for next month. Obviously, I have a complete record of my daily, monthly, and yearly activity in front of me and can very easily keep track of my winning and losing streaks and trends. I have my record in every out I've used, not to mention all of this information in years past as well.
I make copies of any checks, keep any WU slips and print my monthly neteller transactions and staple those to the appropriate page.
The "National Brand Premium Analysis Pad" has 13 columns and 50 separate 11x16 pages. Good enough for four years with columns enough for 10 books and the above mentioned 3 columns as well on each page. There is plenty of room to add comments and make notes regarding individual sport tallies, specific games and such.
I am very fortunate that Mrs. Jones set this up for me several years back. I found out early that when I made the entries my luck was bad, yet when she did, it was much better. So when I wake up and go to my desk each morning all information is updated and waiting for me.
You might ask why I don't use a sreadsheet of somekind. The answer is that I am an old man who only knows his computer well enough to do what I must do.
Also highly unlikely, I do pay my taxes, but should any villain or miscreant ever need to see this information, it would be rather obvious that it is not something I could cook up overnight. There are simply to many whiteouts, specific game notations, entries with obviously different pens, and rather amazing comments, smiley faces, and words of encouragement Mrs Jones has put in there over the last few years.
Anyway, I'm hoping this may be of some help to a few of you.
