I like running sneakers too. Honestly it doesn't matter what kind. They are generally expensive but you can get them for 20-40 bucks if you look for a sale as opposed to 80 or significantly more. They last a long time as opposed to cheap ones.

I have 5 pair of Nike's, all ready to retire ( throw out ) might be able to weed through and save 2 pair
but it's time for something new

I prefer Running or Walking Sneakers, any good ones that somebody bought lately ??

I used to be a nike Buff. Tried Asics at a running event 10 years ago and now most of my running/walking/gym sneakers are Asics. I still own few Nike but prefer the Asics for running/jogging/walking/gym.

Nike but it's just about impossible to find anything that doesn't look space-age these days...

I hear ya! Too many hipsters and nowadays everything they make is to look good on pictures/social media....including food!

All the brand ones are marked up heavily. Costs them under $5 to make a pair since all of them are made in india/china/indonesia/bangladesh etc but they sell for under $100.

If price is an issue, never buy the latest model. Shoe brands always come up with new model each season but they its basically the same shoes from the post with some cosmetic changes outside. The new release are always marked up heavily. Just get one from the previous release and you can get it for less than 60% to 80% of what they were selling when it first came out.

ok, Thanks

I was going to buy them online, but I think a trip to DICK's is in order to try them first.

Yea, never buy shoes without trying first. Especially if you are used to one brand for a long time and going to try a new one.

Since you are previous Nike buff like me, i recommend giving Asics a try.

For years I despised Converse because I thought they looked uncomfortable being more of a flat footed shoe. Little did I know until I bought a pair and now I don’t have back problems like I did with Nike’s. Had no idea a change in footwear could make such a difference in my life.

Converse all the way here.

The adrenaline are my go to. I like the stability since I also wear them casually. Both are awesome shoes for their desired intentions, though.

tried these and liked them. the color i wanted wasn't at the store so they are being shipped to me.

Cool deal. Hope they treat you well. I’m currently rocking the black and silver ones. Still get use out of the gts 17 in Black, Silver, and Blue too.

I went with the Navy/Grey
they had a good deal with $20 off, so got them for $99.99

if I really love them, might get a different pair

I like that they have a transparency statement, so I know a 8 year old didn't make them

Thanks again

We have a store called The Running Company where they watch you walk then recommend shoes based on that. They bring out about 4 or 5 different brands (you don't pick the color or anything) then they have you try them on. The best advice they give is pick the one you notice on your feet the least.

They even say Nike shoes are garbage...I bought Mizuno about 2 weeks ago and Asics the time before. There is a huge difference shoes at a pure running store vs say Shopko/Target Nike's or whatever brand you like.

never heard of Mizuno, just looked them up, they look similar to Asics , and they are priced right. maybe I'll look into them for a extra pair

I'll have to wait until I get my Brooks first

VERY Happy I'm getting rid of Nike............

Nike makes Colin Kaepernick the face of 'Just Do It' 30th anniversary campaign

Surely there will be a calm, rational, well reasoned response to this story.

Nike revealed, through ESPN’s Darren Rovell, that it is making Colin Kaepernick the face of its “Just Do It” 30th anniversary ad campaign.

The initial image, announced through Rovell, has a close up of Kaepernick’s face with the caption: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”

Nike and NFL have a significant business relationship

The NFL season will start Thursday, and Kaepernick remains unsigned. That whole story makes the Kaepernick-Nike alliance a bit more interesting.

Kaepernick recently won the summary judgment phase of his collusion case against the NFL, which indicated arbitrator Stephen Burbank felt there was enough merit in the arguments and evidence produced by Kaepernick’s lawyers to warrant a trial in the case. It was a loss for the NFL, which has claimed there was no collusion to keep Kaepernick out of the league, although dozens of less-qualified quarterbacks have signed with teams since Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem to bring attention to social issues.

Nike is a corporate sponsor with the NFL. They provide the official jerseys for the league that Kaepernick is trying to beat in a collusion case.

Colin Kaepernick will draw emotional responses on both sides

The wording of Rovell’s tweet made it seem like Nike had kept its sponsorship agreement with Kaepernick under wraps, waiting to have a big unveil with the start of this ad campaign. The last significant story involving Kaepernick and a shoe company came in April, when Adidas said it would be interested in adding Kaepernick as a spokesman if he signed with a team.

It’s an interesting decision for Nike. No other athlete produces the same emotional response as Kaepernick. Some will rip Nike and claim they’ll never buy their products again. Others who support Kaepernick will gladly shift their dollars to Nike for its support of the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, who is viewed as a hero to many for standing up for social issues even if it meant the NFL ultimately would freeze him out.

If Nike wanted the maximum attention possible for its new advertising campaign, mission accomplished.
