Every damm scout in MLB baseball says they are a top 5 talent.
But of course im sure you know more about that then they do.
Not every scout, again you're reaching. How about some scouts think both are top 5 potential.
McCann is a proven good catcher. Salty is not proven, and thus his hype is based on potential. There are tons of catchers under 24 who have as much or more potential than Salty. Mauer, Clement, Wieters, Martin, Montero, Suzuki, Navarro, and Iannetta all easily can be considered to have as much or more potential than Salty.
To say they are top 5 catchers are silly, and that is what you said. Maybe you should consider clarifying from the onset before you go and pop off. Salty has done nothing more substantial than the guys Chris and I listed. Many players do really well in their first trip around the majors, before the advance scouts get a shot to break down their game and find their weaknesses.
