The poll, conducted by Morning Consult for Bloomberg, found Democrat Harris was 12 points ahead of Republican Trump in the battleground state, where he had been consistently but narrowly polling ahead of Joe Biden before the president announced he was ending his 2024 campaign.

The survey polled 706 registered voters in Michigan between July 24 and July 28 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

The campaign team for Vice President Kamala Harris refuted claims on Tuesday that she supports electric vehicle (EV) mandates, calling such accusations a "lie." However, Harris’ previous record and her role in the Biden administration suggest otherwise.


Then-Senator Harris was a co-sponsor of the Zero Emissions Vehicles Act in 2019, a bill that initially proposed to require 100% of new car sales to be EVs or otherwise be emissions-free by 2040. Harris later campaigned, during her failed 2020 presidential bid, on having all new car sales be zero-emissions models by 2035.

Democratic strategist James Carville said on Tuesday that his biggest concern for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is that she can’t effectively explain why she was so liberal in 2019.


Harris supported many left-wing policies during her 2020 campaign, which she launched in January 2019, including a fracking ban, mandatory federal gun buybacks and the elimination of private health insurance. Carville, on “THE DAILY BLAST with Greg Sargent” podcast, said “she has an ineffective answer for 2019” when asked about the “nightmare scenario” for Harris’ campaign

Can‘t wait for her answer on this during the interview or the debate , but I won’t hold my breath that it’s asked. But she’ll spread joy at least .


During Wednesday’s edition of Squawk Box, fellow host Rebecca Quick pressed Bharat Rama on the policy by claiming “taxing unrealized gains just doesn’t seem fair in any sense of the word” adding that “all you’re doing is pulling forward the taxes that would be paid later when someone actually sells the stock.”


“I think that this reaction to unrealized gains is a little funny, given that I bet that the majority of people watching right now are already paying a tax on unrealized gains.
