Stupid ass deal to have Yahoo show video highlights is pathetic. Thing never works with any of my broadband connections. Is it really that hard to send highlights and then have the user get to watch them without them totally breaking up???

Mmm, something is not right on your end, have a couple of machines here and works on all of them firefox & IE both.

PS: I also don't like the world cup site much, but highlights load up pretty fast and the video part is rather decent.

I tried at home, at a hotel, at work...all the same. I have tried playing with the settings and all, not working on IE or Firefox. The first 15 seconds are fine, then it becomes like a photo gallery with nothing streaming.

I am trying everything, what else can I do? Missed most of the goals and wanted to catch up on some action I didn't catch and this happens. Oh well, still think you make a deal with Yahoo and you are asking for it. They try to do everything and end up doing lots of things poorly.

Wild bill, you may try upgrading your windows media player just in case, altough I'd be surprised if it fixes it. The site uses WMV plugin and the 9.0 series codec, it's a 700kbps stream and a really good quality like ttinco says. Reinstalling WMP may not help, but is worth a try.

Or install\reinstall winamp (free one) and let it be the default for everything. Not sure that will work either, but it might.

I side with WB

The video sometimes works flawlessly, sometimes it does not at all. Test it by sorting it different ways: most popular, date, etc.

If the video's on Google, or just about anywhere else, it's more reliable(to work every single time accessed).
