Daytona Beach is so bizarre. Everything looks like shit because it gets it's ass kicked by the water. It's like you're in the 70's. Everything looks that old (downtown Palm Springs is the same way...total flashback).
They've torn down the old boardwalk to make way for new hotels and condos along with a shopping district on the street level of these places. The pier is also being rebuilt with a new Ferris wheel as well. Main St is still biker heaven thus not been cleaned up, or even attempted for that matter. Most of the old hotels are now gone and now are condos or future condos. The beachside is going of the way of Ft. Lauderdale. Out with the old in with the new. When I first got here years ago, this place was a dirty shithole. Now at least I can say that its cleaned up and the Boardwalk area already has some of the best bars and restuarants in the area only to get better with time.
A1A or Atlantic Ave beachside will be totally done in about 4 years and will be a high priced place to buy a residence. The time is coming for the revitalization of Daytona Beach and its surrounding communities.
Whale,
Don't forget the sunscreen bro. I got f'in smoked again today, and I'm a tan motherf'er. Hope you enjoy your stay in the state.
