A 5 year ban does not equal 5x a one year ban, not even close. Think of it this way: If the loser had to get whipped, or raped, or imprisoned, the first lash, rape, or month in prison is by far the worst, and the subsequent remaining 4 lashes rapes or months in prison are less and less traumatizing.
