How does this process work? Most western Union offices in my city are at a grocery store chain. I highly doubt they have cash in large amounts sitting there. So can you go to any of the locations to get the money and do they simply give you a check or money order? Never withdrawn this way before and was curious as to how it works. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you keep the amount under $1,000. usually most places can pay with cash after that those mom and pop's give out checks.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Dont worry...they have the cash. If not at least you can take the Check Western union gives and depoit the amount in your bank.

Grocery store near me (large chain, lots of locations) only pays out $500. Can't believe it is so low, but it is!

For send-out, the max is $2000.
