Long story short I mainly use Matchbook but wanted to try another solid book and my 2 check/debit cards weren't working so I thought I would give Western Union a shot.
Took a dime in cash down to the local Western Union depot (one of those check cashing places) gave them the first last and 2nd last name and the location.
Got my control number, back to work and the book to ensure they got it. After they didn't get it for a couple hours I asked what the hold up was and the manager said I paid for it via credit card so they can't pick it up?
I paid cash but the book told me there was no way they could prove that so I had to cancel the transaction. Come to find out I lose the fee I paid to transfer the money if I cancel the transaction. So I did cancel it and it's not a ton of money but I don't really want to lose the fee money again.
Western Union also asked why I was canceling and I told them they couldn't pick up the money because it wasn't cash. They started asking questions so I simply told them I wired them the money so I don't need to do it anymore.
Anyone else ever run into this? Was supposed to be a quick post...
