because if not, i will be putting at LEAST three units on the celtics tonight! you have got to be kidding me. what in the history of this series this year, or the recent trajectory of these two teams suggests that this should even be a single digit line, much less -5.5?? I swear, i know it isn't cool to back public teams and obvious plays like this on here, but if you had an IQ of 20, and you did nothing all day but eat your own boogers and bet on the celtics because you like the color green....you have won the past 8 games ATS! and tonight will make it 9. don't overthink this one, folks!

I find this game uneasy. If I were to make lines for this game, it'd be around -11 boston.

I think it'll turn into another one of those 64-30 at halftime games.

lol, you must be new to nba -11???????????
player for player detroit is almost as talented, they just lack chemisty......... this will be tight all the way through...... something like 90-87

No, I am not new to the nba, and yes I know how volatile the nba is.

I said something similiar when boston beat orlando by 10 points a few days ago when orlando was favored by 4.5. Before that game came out I thought it would be bos -7.

I got the same feeling about this one. Player for player the same talent is incorrect. They lack alot more than talent and chemistry.

P. Pierce 18.8 Points A. Iverson 17.6
R. Rondo 8.0 Assists A. Iverson 5.2
K. Garnett 9.0 Rebounds A. McDyess 7.9
R. Rondo 2.1 Steals A. Iverson 1.6
K. Perkins 1.8 Blocks R. Wallace 1.4
P. Pierce 36.3 Minutes A. Iverson 37.9

lopsided every angle, and RIP is questionable.

boston 2-0 ATS this year vs pistons.

And all numbers and research aside, I watch both boston and detroit. My brain and my gut both agree and thats all I need.

maybe if you look at the season as a whole, but if you look at the last 5 games, you will see that boston is 5 of 5 ATS (and did i mention...8 of 8!) and many of those were blowout covers against better teams or much bigger spreads. boston is averaging a scoring margin of 17 pts per game, compared to detroit's whopping 2.4. i'll give them 3 pts for homecourt, but that still amounts to an 11-12 point spread considering what they have done lately..and the celtics have done it against better competition (magic, heat..)

and finally, they have both played a common opponent at home just in the past week...the mavericks. do i really even need to mention the outcomes of those two games, both played at HOME : record-setting blowout win in the garden, and an embarassing 22 point loss by the pistons at the palace.

in the NBA the past 5-10 games is really all that is relevant to look at. it is a very long season, with lots of injuries, and lots of streaks. otherwise, you should just be fading the thunder night in and night out right now...tell me how that works out for ya ;)

this is a league of hot/cold, streaking teams..and NO ONE wants a piece of the celtics right now.

and BTW...the travel agent thing is just nauseatingly gay.

don't worry bro..the RELEVANT numbers and research both agree with your gut and your brain. It's just like i said...it's just not cool or "contrarian" to bet on the celtics, so you will always get flamed by folks who feel like they are more legit than you because they can eek out 55% winners playing over/unders and quarter bets on shitty teams that no one cares about.

Like i said above, if there is a monkey somewhere in a cage that just flings his poop at a big red button that bets a unit on the celtics every time it is pressed, that monkey is 8 for the past 8, and is a more successful handicapper than anyone on here.
bet on the teams that are hot ATS against those that aren't = win lots of NBA money. it's really that simple. you don't even have to guess about perception, because it is already worked into the statistic!

:nohead: ok you found the secret im gonna look at the last 5 days from now on and make millions. you D..ass. that info is available to everyeone you think vegas line makers don't know about that? plus detroit has no home court advatage that shows you what you know in that regard. and did you forget to mention about orlando being off 4 days before playing boston that typically long layoffs =very poor defence spacing and low shooting percentage. there was a reason the line was 4.5 that night but you have not figured it out yet . So stick to your last 5 10 day crap and keep loosing

did you mean to quote me instead??

I was the one that said I took boston +4.5 vs orlando. And I was aware orlando took days off, so I knew they were gonna shoot cold in the 1st half. Playing catchup against boston doesnt pay well.

I know the reasoning behind this game's line. Before this game, orlando was 12-4 ATS and were dogs in some games where they outright won. Orlando was off the radar and the linemakers either werent watching orlando or werent giving them enough credit. So After the orlando makes the vegas linemakers look like crap for a week or two, they figured they were due and orlando was giving 4.5 points over the celtics. Which turned out to be another mistake.

And yes, I cashed in every time.

no i was not qouting you I quoted the right person. And i never said nothing the night you took boston cause i knew it was a high percentage. That said tonight this game is not the same situation. Boston can win- i did mention that the first two games that sttod out for me were boston and the lakers but i had to pass on both.
