I remember when the whacked out left here in CT actually won the democratic primary for Senate. Al Sharpton and similar cronies were all in CT celebrating. They thought they won a safe democratic senate seat

But Joe Liberman ran as an independent, won all the Republican vote and the moderate democratic vote and won reelection. I don't think it was very close either, never in doubt
